Sunset Bay Resort is located on the one of a kind, beautiful clear waters of Baby Lake between Hackensack and Longville Minnesota just south of Leech Lake. Just an hour north of Brainerd, and a few hours north of the Twin Cities we are located in the northern lake country of Minnesota without being too far up north.
With all of the beautiful lakes in the area there seems to be more water than land when driving around! What land you do find is covered in forest and wilderness - you are truly in the Northwoods and Lake Country of Minnesota!

We do our best to promote a fun, family atmosphere on the resort grounds. We also want the peaceful and wild setting to shine through for everyone to experience.
NO Pets:
We love animals but children, strange animals, and strange surroundings don’t mix - we cannot allow guests or visitors to bring pets. There is a very nice boarding facility located a few miles away in Hackensack.
NO ATVs, Dirt Bikes Operating on Resort Property
In an effort to keep the resort quiet and safe, we do not allow any type of ATV to be operated on resort grounds. There are public trails available throughout the area, and we encourage you to check them out, but ATVs must remain on the trailer while on resort grounds.
NO JET SKIs
We do not allow resort guests to dock at the resort docks or operate Jet Skis in our bay. Our bay is quite shallow near the docks and we have great weed growth outside of the sandy beach area that provides great habitat for fish - Jet Skis being operated in our bay can be very destructive and dangerous for boaters and swimmers. Also they can be very disruptive to the quiet lake atmosphere our guests come to enjoy.
If you want to bring Jet Skis, we encourage you to take them to a larger lake such as Woman which is very close by and much more appropriate for having fun on a Jet Ski. You are welcome to park them on their trailers on resort property.
